Bernie Sanders forced a vote on stopping arm sales to Israel, yet he's silent on the anti-Hamas demonstrators in Gaza. Sanders says, "Hamas started this war ... on October 7." Only in this war involving Israel does Sanders believe there should be zero civilian deaths, knowing civilians die in all wars. Sanders is spreading Hamas' propaganda claiming 50,000 civilian deaths. He won't tell you 32,000 are terrorists, naturally occurring deaths and Hamas' own revised numbers. No Bernie, 18,000 civilian deaths, a sad but remarkably low number for urban warfare.
Secretary Blinken said Hamas is emboldened whenever there is daylight between the US and Israel. Shamefully, Sanders emboldens terrorists. Our campuses and congressional progressives are silent on supporting anti-Hamas protesters. Silence on Palestinians against Hamas is not being pro-Palestinian but is gratuitously anti-Israeli. Palestinian protesters know, throwing Hamas out, and returning the kidnapped Israelis immediately ends the war. Sanders and friends ignore this truth. They will fight till the very last Palestinian.
