The recent opinion essay, ‘Choice is a first amendment right’, is well written, scientific, and tries to establish a sound legal foundation. What the writer fails to appreciate is that Christians believe that the Bible is the definitive source of absolute truth. Psalm 139:13 says, “For you formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb”. I have never heard anyone claim that a DNA sequence awakens the release of a novel soul. To believe the Bible it is necessary to take a leap of faith. Each individual person as they pass from this earth will expeditiously find out the answer to the question of whether the intrauterine contents are merely chemical and biological substance or indeed are endowed with personhood.
