As a first official act promoted by Safari Club International, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke reversed the ban on highly toxic lead ammunition and tackle on public lands as another act of ideological extremism. Aware sportsmen prefer the field tested, cost competitive and readily available ammunition alternatives because lead, which fragments on impact, is a potent neuro-toxin that poisons water, soil and any living creature including humans especially children that ingest the shards.
Masquerading as a conservation organization and common game hunter advocate, SCI’s administrative address in their International Wildlife Museum on Gates Pass Road manages the kill records for elite trophy hunting contests involving millions of animals worldwide and over 320 species including rare and endangered. To advance the privatization of public lands for elite special interests, Safari Club litigates to eliminate essential environmental and species protections to the detriment of traditional hunters of common game, a public vehemently opposed to trophy hunting and who strongly support protective laws for well-being of both wildlife and public.
