On Jan. 9, Rick and Georganne Connors, owners of the Hungry Fox Restaurant, donated a portion of their receipts for the day to the Southern Arizona Hearing Aid Bank. With a huge banner proclaiming the Midtown Sertoma's Fund Raising Drive, Rick welcomed both new and longstanding customers to his cozy establishment where comfort food prevails.
The Southern Hearing Aid Bank, supported by the Midtown Sertoma Service Club, is a collaborative project involving the UA Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, the Community Outreach Program for the Deaf, the Adult Hearing Loss Association and Sertoma. The UA Hearing Clinic supplies people in need with refurbished hearing aids. Members of Sertoma volunteer there. Annually, the club funds a lab assistant for the clinic and scholarships for students pursuing research in audiology.
By providing their generous donation, Rick and Georganne Connors have given back to their community a wonderful gift! On Feb. 13, they will do it all over again.
