After viewing a disturbing report on 60 Minutes about “The Hilltop Youth,” Israeli youth between 15 and 18 who physically harass and impose their presence on Palestinian land owners, a Trump propaganda advertisement played. In it, President Trump is shown waddling in front of a camera while his voice-over warned of a “final battle,” followed by quotes from Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth gloating about capturing Nicolas Maduro. The advertisement ended with “Funded by the American Government.” In response, a federal judge has ordered the taxpayer-funded ad to stop, noting violation of federal law for the use of taxpayer money for publicity or propaganda. Hopefully, American voters will recognize this desperate attempt to influence the midterm election and magnify the necessity to vote out current unresponsive House and Senate members, replacing them with active, thoughtful supporters of democracy.
