In Matthew 22:21, Jesus is asked about paying taxes. His answer was to render to Cesar what is Cesar’s and to God what is God’s. Basically, Jesus defined a separation of church and state.
The latest TV ads by Turning Point USA are lies about Governor Hobbs. Not only are Turning Point leaders and their followers defying the teachings of Jesus, they're in league with those who were the money changers in the temple.
Jesus taught that in Luke 6:36 to be merciful as your Father is merciful. This is not the goal of Turning Point leaders and its followers. In Luke 16:14 the Pharisees, who were self-righteous, mocked Jesus when he said you can not serve God and Mammon. The religious right and Turning Point are today’s Pharisees seeking wealth and power.
From the teachings of Jesus, it seems Turning Point leaders and followers as well as the religious right will never be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
