TEMPE - Arizona State quarterback Steven Threet, who suffered four concussions in the past five years, decided to end his football career at ASU.
As a junior, Threet helped revive ASU's offense last season, completing 61.9 percent of his passes for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns with 16 interceptions, but suffered two concussions.
"At this point, I think this is the best decision, given the circumstances I'm in," said Threet, adding that he's still experiencing symptoms from a concussion that ended his season on Nov. 26 against UCLA.
Threet's decision likely makes Brock Osweiler the starting quarterback entering spring practice. Osweiler started the final game of the season, a 30-29 overtime win over Arizona.

INDIANAPOLIS - Colts president Bill Polian says negotiations between the team and Peyton Manning are progressing.
Just don't expect the two sides to cut a deal this weekend.
"I would say we are simply moving ahead at a steady pace, but nothing is imminent," Polian told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
Team owner Jim Irsay said last week he had offered Manning a deal that would eclipse Tom Brady's record for annual average salary.
