Arizona's coaching staff openings likely won't be filled for at least the next two weeks or so, but that hasn't stopped Rich Rodriguez and co. from trying to make moves in recruiting.
The Wildcats lost Kapri Doucet on Monday, and quarterback Devon Modster on New Year's Eve, but since Tuesday the UA has offered at least five 2016 recruits scholarships — ATH Bruce Judson (4-star, Cocoa, Florida), LB Kyzir White (4-star, Lackawanna CC), RB Artavis Pierce (3-star; Auburndale, Florida), ATH Jessie Britt (2-star; Auburndale), and LB Emmanuel Beal (unrated, Lackawanna CC).
(By the way — Doucet also comes from Lackawanna. The Wildcats are really trying to mine the Scranton, Pa. junior college, apparently.)
Important to note: as Rich Rodriguez sorts out his coaching staff, he's been more heavily involved in recruiting these defensive players, along with safeties coach Matt Caponi and, I'd imagine, new cornerbacks coach Jahmile Addae.

So, anyway, how can we sort all this out?
First things first — of those, Beal and Judson are the only ones not verbal committed anywhere yet, and it will be an uphill battle for Judson, who has offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Miami (Fl.), among many others.
Still, verbal commitments in this day and age aren't always exactly long-lasting.
Britt is verbally committed to Western Kentucky, but still plans to take an official visit to Arizona on the weekend of Jan. 18. White (West Virginia) and Pierce (Oregon State) are already committed elsewhere, too.
Britt, who also has offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Florida International, Miami (Fl.) and a few others, is excited at the prospect of playing in Arizona's offense.
"It's get great because I love the Pac-12 offenses because of how they pass," Britt told the Star, "and I really like them in general because they are a true spread team."
