How about a side of distance running with that football game?
Next Friday, the Cienega High School cross country team will host a meet with Sabino during the halftime of Cienega's football game against Douglas.
The runners will get a taste of bright lights, cheering fans and the marching band's show as they follow a course that winds around campus and finishes on the track around the football field.
"Those kids work hard and they deserve that kind of atmosphere as well," said Nemer Hassey, assistant principal and Bobcats football coach.
"It's a good little tradition we started last year," he said.
Cienega got the idea from Phoenix Greenway High School, which has the same tradition.
