The Pima County One Stop Career Center combines the services of nearly 50 organizations, public and private, that provide job services to youths, adults and employers.
Services offered usually include education and training to help employed workers upgrade their job skills.
But because of the number of people looking for job training during the recession, job training funds have been exhausted, said Jim Mize, who heads up the employer outreach program. Meanwhile, Mize said, they are still offering displaced workers help with writing résumés and working on interviewing skills.
• Services for workers who have been laid off recently are provided at the Kino Service Center, 2797 E. Ajo Way, across from the former Kino Hospital and Tucson Electric Park.
• Unemployed adults and youths are helped at the Rio Nuevo Service Center, 340 N. Commerce Park Loop, off Bonita Avenue, north of Congress Street on the west side of the Santa Cruz River.
