• Sears Holdings has declined to participate in the Star 200 survey for the past few years. Our estimate is based on an average number of employees per retail location plus estimated staff at a Sears call center.
• The employment count listed for JC Penney last year was adjusted to an estimate of 600 after a company official said it was likely too low. JC Penney opened a new store on the south side in 2008 that may not have been included in last year's figures.
• Computer Sciences Corp. employment figures for the 2008 Star 200 (year-end 2007 numbers, which are found in the online database) were lowered to an estimate of 300 because a higher, statewide employment figure was erroneously submitted for that year.
• Wal-Mart provides only total employee figures, without breaking out full-and part-time workers. The figure provided was reduced based on 30 percent of Wal-Mart employees working half-time, similar to past estimates.

• Employment figures for Willcox greenhouse vegetable grower Eurofresh Inc. were adjusted downward for last year (year-end 2008 figures) to reflect that about 300 employees at a separate greenhouse operation near Snowflake were erroneously included.
• Fry's Food Stores FTE numbers for 2009 (year-end 2008) were adjusted upward by 400 to reflect additional staffing not included in last year's estimate.
• Figures for Community Provider of Enrichment Services Inc. for last year were adjusted upward to 500 to correct a counting error.
• The name of Pepsi Bottling Group was changed this year to Pepsi Beverages Co. to reflect an ownership change.
• Figures for Providence Service Corp. this year include both the publicly traded parent company and Providence Service Corp. of Arizona, a local operating entity. The address listed is for the local company, at the company's request.
• The Nogales Unified School District was inadvertently left off the Star 200 last year. The district would have ranked 65th.
• Employment figures for CTI Cement Transportation appear down slightly, but a spokesman said last year's figures erroneously included an unknown number of employees outside Southern Arizona.
