There’s a bit of an anarchist bent to an upcoming art show.
“Grand Theft Art Show” is mixing thievery with art to benefit BICAS.
But don’t misunderstand: The intent is not to teach you how to steal a car or a bike; it’s to help you avoid making it easy for those who want to break the law.
The Friday and Saturday event at Thunder Canyon Brewery downtown, organized by Spirit Art House, will include demonstrations on hot-wiring cars and common ways that bikes are stolen. There’s even a disclaimer: “Thunder Canyon, Spirit Art House, and BICAS do not endorse or support hotwiring or painting vehicles that are not your own.”
There will also be plenty of art to look at. And buy (no stealing, please). A portion of the proceeds will benefit BICAS, which is raising funds to secure its own building.

If you buy anything, here’s how you pay: the usual methods, as well as the unusual: Bitcoins, the virtual money that’s causing quite a stir around the world, will be accepted.
The event is free. Opening reception is 7-10 p.m. Friday; the show is 11 a.m.-10 p.m.. Saturday. Thunder Canyon is at 220 E. Broadway.
