Don Mackey announced today that he will lose his General Motors dealership in Tucson, which will not be renewed when it expires Oct. 31, 2010.
“Sadly from that point on we will no longer be a franchise GM dealer,” Mackey, who said he has sold and serviced GM vehicles in Tucson and surrounding communities for 26 years, wrote in a news release.
But until then, he emphasized, “It will be business as usual; we will continue to sell new Cadillac, Pontiac and GMC vehicles as well as GM Certified Used vehicles and a large selection of customer trade-in used vehicles. Our service department will continue to provide warranty and maintenance service by our GM Certified technicians throughout this process.”
But, as of fall 2010, “Due to the extraordinary situation surrounding GM today and circumstances far beyond our control, our agreement with GM will be not be renewed along with some 1,400 other GM dealers nationwide,” Mackey wrote.
