A group of Desert View High School students will head to San Diego later this month for a conference after receiving a professional certification in 3-D Computer-aided design.
The students passed an assessment test requiring them to demonstrate their knowledge of 3-D solid modeling, design concepts and sustainable design protocols.
As a result, they will head to the SolidWorks World Professional Conference in San Diego, where they will take a test for a second certification.
SolidWorks is a 3-D Computer-aided design software program.
The students will attend breakout sessions and tour local education and industry sites, including the Fender guitar factory.
The students are Desarae Stephens; Jess Quintero; Clarissa Moreno; Ernesto Moreno; Evelyn Plascencia; Esperanza Celis; Arturo Escudero; Robert Canales; and Johnatton Ayala.

They are part of Desert View's Aerospace i-STEM College and Career Academy.
Some of the students are also part of the school's Precision Machining and Engineering programs.
