The Tucson Unified School District's homepage has been redesigned in the name of transparency.Â
The redesign was launched Friday to not only better feature content out front, but also to help parents and community members find information more easily, said TUSD spokeswoman Cara Rene.Â
While TUSD recently contracted with an outside vendor for a marketing campaign, the TUSD1.org homepage redesign was done in-house by Rene and the district's web editor, Cathy Thwing.Â
The goal is to eventually redesign the entire site, Rene said, but there is no timeline for when that may happen.Â
"We've received a lot of feedback that people can't find things, so we pushed for this because we wanted more transparency," Rene said.

In addition to a "school spotlight" section, there is now a "meet the staff" feature in which employees from across the district will be highlighted for delivering excellence in education. Â
