A woman walking on Tucson's northeast side was attacked by a stranger Sunday, authorities said.
The woman was not significantly injured, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a Pima County Sheriff's spokeswoman, on Monday.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an assault near the 9800 block of East Snyder Road.
The area is east of North Harrison Road.
Deputies learned that a woman was assaulted by an unknown man while walking on the road. The woman said she saw a vehicle pass her two to four times, thinking the driver was lost, said Rodriguez.
However, the woman told investigators that she still found it suspicious, so she began walking on the dirt portion of the road to get further away.
The woman said she saw the vehicle make a U-turn and approach her from behind.

When the vehicle, described as a dark-green, possibly 1990s Chevrolet SUV, stopped, a man climbed out of the vehicle and ran toward her. He physically assaulted her, and the woman began to scream, startling the man, Rodriguez said.
The attacker stopped, ran to the SUV and drove off toward Harrison Road.
The man was described as white, about 6 feet tall and weighed about 230 pounds. He had reddish-blonde hair.
He was last seen wearing a red Universty of Arizona shirt and jeans.
Investigators ask that anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
