GODFREY • A Godfrey man was under the influence of marijuana, cocaine, anxiety medication and alcohol and faces four additional charges for crashing into a house in Godfrey in January, killing a man inside.
Jacob L. Fickle, 24, of the 200 block of Mercury Drive, was charged Tuesday with four felony counts of aggravated driving while under the influence resulting in death. Toxicology reports of samples taken from Fickle were completed earlier this month, and the new charges are the result of those tests.
Fickle was previously charged with leaving the scene of a traffic accident that resulted in the death, a felony. He also was charged with domestic battery for reportedly beating two people, and he was issued traffic citations for allegedly driving when his license was revoked and for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The man who was killed was Marlin F. “Bud” Bushnell, of the 100 block of Saturn Drive in Godfrey.
