What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”
Last week’s recipient: Ellie Abraham, managing director of Corona Cares, a volunteer, neighborhood alliance program.
Nominated by: Gregg Barnes, volunteer at Corona Cares.
Why: For her hard work with Corona Cares in helping senior citizens in Corona de Tucson. She manages numerous volunteers, coordinates requests for services, helps with fundraising, oversees administrative duties, opens her home to board meetings, and works tirelessly for the organization.
“I can think of no other person who has contributed more to the Corona de Tucson community,” Barnes wrote in his nomination letter.
