Oro Valley Police have arrested a man believed to be involved in a hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian Monday morning.
John J. Pedicone, 37, was booked on suspicion of failing to stop at an accident involving serious physical injury or death and for aggravated assault.
At approximately 6:15 a.m., officers responded to a 65-year-old male who was struck while walking along the 9300 block of North Calle El Milagro, according to a news release.
The vehicle, described as black, in a “cube” style and with damage to its windshield and front grill, fled the scene.
A vehicle matching that description, a 2010 Nissan Cube, was discovered at a home near the 100 block of West Oro Valley Drive at around 10:22 a.m., the news release said.
Traffic investigators determined Pedicone, the registered owner of the car, was the driver at the time of the incident.

The victim was transported to Banner University Medical Center and remains in critical condition.
