Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, at East River Road and North Alvernon Way, is named after the 13-year-old who died in a car crash in 2003. Her parents, April and Jon, raised more than $1.5 million toward construction of the park, which opened in 2006.

In addition to the splash pad, the park has covered basketball courts, three soccer fields and a memorial garden.
"To see all the kids laughing and playing and running through the splash pad, it's a wonderful feeling," April Fenton said recently in an Arizona Daily Star story.
"Day or night when we drive by there, I get a smile on my face."
