A team from Catalina Foothills High School was tops overall in the 20th Anniversary Division C Arizona Science Olympiad, held Saturday at Glendale Community College.
Blue team
Catalina Foothills High School Blue team will represent the state at the national tournament in Washington, D.C.
Its team members are: Ethan Boroson, Jeff Brown, Alice Cai, Katie Cunningham, Jonathan D'Gama, Jessica Hung, Ofer Fass, Jimmy Larson, Aniket Maitra, Sangwon Moon, Eva Nichols, Ravi Ram, Michael Tringali, Jenelle Wallace and Mary Wang. Its coach is Cathy "Kiki" Moore.
Other placements
Three other Southern Arizona teams also placed in the top seven Saturday in the Science Olympiad, which included such categories as cell biology, disease detective, ecology, robot ramble and many others.

• Catalina Foothills White (6th), with members Biafra Ahanonu, Eli Alster, Ian Choi, Arun Debray, Navid Fallahi, Nikita Francis, Issac Hung, Anny Ko, Kevin Lin, Jinglu Shi, Gelya Tepelboym, Trevor Wagner, Matthew Watson and Vivian Zhang. Its coach is Rod Thompson.
In addition, Marana High School was the top "Rookie Team" of the year. Its members were Mary Ammons, Alicia Arizu, Sabrina Ball, Samantha Brady, Nicholas Comerford, Chris Conahay, Paige Frahm, Cassandra Hall, Cody McFarland, Melinda Marks, Kelly McGinn, Matthew O'Conner, Jared Smith and Adrianna Vera. Marana's coach is AnnMarie Stafford.
