For the past 27 years the Arizona Symphonic Winds has been providing free concerts at Udall Park during the summer and fall.
The concerts, presented by the city of Tucson's Parks and Recreation department, are for the community's enjoyment and continue the American tradition of park concerts established by many great band leaders of the past, including John Philip Sousa.
The "Music in the Park" series runs at 7 p.m. for four Saturdays from this Saturday through Sept. 29 in the László Veres Amphitheater at the park, 7290 E. Tanque Verde Road.
The all-volunteer community concert band performs a wide variety of music, including overtures, marches, light classics, Broadway show tunes and popular music.
Everyone is invited, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic dinners and lawn chairs or blankets.
