Have you ever wondered how a gourmet chef makes the sauce on your favorite entree just melt in your mouth?
Well, every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m Loews Ventana Canyon Resort has a cooking class that is part of the Loews Culinary Institute, where anyone can learn essential techniques and unusual ingredient combinations from the cooking staff at Loews.
Lauren Bosmeny was among the students at the May 16 class. Classes cost $50 and are limited to 30 participants.
"I bought my mom tickets to this event for Mother's Day," Bosmeny said. "We both enjoy food and cooking."
Students make a multicourse meal which they get to sit down and enjoy after the class is done.
"You get a chance to show what you do to people that might not see the behind-the-scenes aspect of a resort kitchen," said Jason Jonilonis, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort's executive sous chef.
