Do-it-yourself home-improvement and construction merchandise soon will be part of the vast collection of goodies available at the Golden Goose Thrift Shop.
The shop, at 15970 N. Oracle Road, started construction on a south patio April 18 and plans to open the new section in June or July, general manager Stephanie Urdiales said.
The store moved to new, bigger digs in March. Urdiales said the Golden Goose gets hundreds of calls from people wanting to donate home-improvement merchandise.
"Even after opening in our new location, which is twice as large, we still did not have the ability or capacity to house those items," she said.
The Golden Goose offers the community a place to donate unwanted belongings. The shop then sells the items, and gives all the profits to local charities.
