LOS ANGELES — A second wrongful-death lawsuit, this time by the two boys whose mother was killed, was filed against R&B singer Brandy for December's fatal freeway crash.
On Jan. 30, the woman's parents filed a $50 million wrongful death suit against the actress-singer.
The latest Superior Court suit against Brandy Norwood was filed Feb. 8 on behalf of Mrwan Mohamed, 14, and Kareem Mohamed, 10, the children of Awatef Aboudihaj.
The suit filed by attorney Paul N. Philips said the entertainer recklessly caused the Dec. 30 crash on the San Diego Freeway that killed Aboudihaj, 38.
The defendant was driving a Land Rover recklessly when the sport utility vehicle struck the Honda driven by Aboudihaj, the suit said.
"As a direct and proximate result of decedent's passing, plaintiffs forever lost the comfort, society, love, affection, advice, training, society, companionship, care and pecuniary and support of their mother," the suit said.

The suit seeks unspecified damages for the children, claiming they were forever harmed, described as "some permanent disability, resulting in currently unknown future expenses."
"As we've said before, the accident was a terrible tragedy. But for legal reasons we cannot comment on this lawsuit," said Allan Mayer, spokesman for Brandy.
The earlier suit was filed on behalf of parents Aboudihaj Ahmed and Labridi Zohra, who reside in Morocco, in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The city attorney's office is still deciding whether to charge the singer with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, which was recommended by California Highway Patrol investigators, spokesman Jonathan Diamond said Wednesday.
If charged and convicted, Brandy, 28, faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Brandy, who earned a Grammy in 1999, has made five albums. She began her recording career at 14 and acted for film and television, starring on the sitcom "Moesha" from 1996-2001 and most recently as a judge for NBC's "America's Got Talent."
