I would love to know where Mayor Regina Romero and City Council Member, Lane Santa Cruz received their Degree in Economics. In a recent meeting both of them said that there needs to be a redistribution of wealth from billionaires to the citizens of Tucson. One initiative they are instituting is demanding that all companies bidding on City Projects must pay a prevailing wage.
I submit that the prevailing poverty levels that exist today and quite frankly for Regina Romero’s tenure as a Council Person and Mayor are a direct result of policies set by this Mayor and Council for many years. The City of Tucson is not an easy place to do business and passing policies like these chase businesses away. Why don’t they make it easier for the job creators to operate in Tucson? The reason they don’t is quite simple, they know more than businesses that create jobs. Interesting how they came up with this initiative while they quadrupled their own salaries!
