Main problem with your article is that it's a throw away of Tucson history with zero regard for the actual rider and hardworking person that buys your paper and needs that ladder rung to climb. Me, I am a hardworking no one like so many others who for the past 4 years was ready for the $60 fee for a monthly pass. And then was glad I could use that money to put food on the table and maybe enjoy a night out during hard times like normal. The fares failed. They failed so hard the pandemic was a blessing in disguise to show Tucson and America another thing they got wrong with greed. And if you let greed even by a small inch back in ... free fares are part of that imperfect good idea that works and yet needs refinement. Against all the perfect ideas Tucson had that still pushes up debt in ways no one needs. Free bus fare! It just works imperfectly and for all.
