I graduated nursing school in 2005 and started my journey into the cardiac world. Over time I have returned to school to grow my career. Spent multiple years in interventional cardiology as well as cardiovascular ICU. After nurse practitioner schooling/training I was unsure which specialty I wanted to pursue. My passion for complex and critically ill population has never faded. I appreciated challenges that would help me grow as a provider and person. In 2021, I joined the advanced heart failure team at BUMC-T. Being a provider on the heart failure service has been the biggest challenge of my career. Working with chronically ill individuals with limited options and looking at end of life or who are working through the complexities of advanced therapies such as heart transplant or durable left ventricular assisted device. Even though this modality of cardiology can be difficult mentally and emotionally– I thankful to be the clinician managing the complex care of the advanced heart failure population. The support of the AHF team has made it possible for me to work efficiently with compassion. I thank them greatly.
