Nursing was my second career, and entering the profession was one of the best decisions I have ever made. From my early days as a PCT to caring for patients on a PCU floor recovering from major traumas and surgeries, and now shaping the next generation of nurses, every chapter of this journey has deepened my understanding of what it means to be a nurse.
The amazing people I've met along the way, such as colleagues who became lifelong friends and patients who reminded me why this work matters, have filled me with profound gratitude for this profession. As a nurse educator, I have the privilege of witnessing students discover their passion for nursing and go on to thrive in their practice. There is no greater honor than hearing a former student describe the impact you've had on their growth as a nurse and as a person.
