MASON, Ohio — Roger Federer saw it coming.
Too much tennis, too little time off. The world's top player knew it was the perfect combination for a long-awaited upset, one that a disbelieving British teenager pulled off Wednesday.
Andy Murray's 7-5, 6-4 victory in the second round of the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters ended Federer's 55-match win streak in North America and provided his earliest tournament exit in two years.
The streak included two U.S. Open titles that helped stamp Federer as one of the sport's best players.
"The streaks? I don't care about those now that they're over," said Federer, who had not lost in straight sets in his previous 194 matches. "It's going to be a relief for everybody, and now we can move on."

Nolan, an unrestricted free agent, last played in 2003-04 for the Maple Leafs. He has 349 goals and 386 assists in 915 career games with Quebec, Colorado, San Jose and Toronto.

Malkin remained hidden Wednesday, four days after abruptly leaving the Metallurg Magnitogorsk team on Saturday after it arrived for training camp in Helsinki, Finland.
Malkin, 20, arguably the top player in the world not currently in the NHL, is believed to have flown to Canada and remained there.

WASHINGTON — Former NBA player Lonny Baxter was arrested by uniformed Secret Service agents on Wednesday after shots were fired from a vehicle about two blocks from the White House.
Baxter, who helped Maryland win a national championship, and played with the Charlotte Bobcats last season, was ordered held without bail.
"Nobody feels worse about this whole scenario than Mr. Baxter himself," said Baxter's lawyer, Harold Martin.
Baxter, 27, was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. after a witness flagged down a Secret Service agent and reported shots fired from a white sports utility vehicle, said Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren.
