After losing a few recruits over the last couple of weeks, the Arizona Wildcats are finally adding to their 2016 class.
Sunday, safety Tristan Cooper (Andress/El Paso) verbally committed to play for the Wildcats. He will sign his national letter of intent on signing day, which is Feb. 3.
Cooper, listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, becomes the 13th member of Arizona's 2016 class, and seventh defensive player. He's unranked by Scout.com, 3-stars by 247sports.com and 2-stars by Rivals.com. Cooper had offers from Texas Tech, Illinois, Purdue, New Mexico, Texas State and UTEP. Offensive coordinator Calvin Magee was his lead recruiter.
From El Paso, Cooper is actually Arizona's first commit from Texas since 2012 when Josh Kern, Javelle Allen and Leo Thomas verballed to Arizona. Kern is the only one left.
