Jordan Jeffries does not have one of the flashiest superhero nicknames on the Marana swim squad.
While other athletes go by Superman, Aquaman and The Flash, Jeffries is just referred to as "Double J."
But the swimmer, now in his junior year, has an uncanny superhuman speed when he enters the pool.
Jeffries broke two individual pool and school records Thursday in the host Tigers' 88-83 win over rival Mountain View, taking first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly.
He also was part of a school record in the 400 freestyle relay with teammates Rhett Baker, Tanner Page and Drew Hill.
"Today felt really good," Jeffries said of his team's performance. "These were some great times to start us off."
Hill, known to his teammates as Ironman, set a school record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5 minutes 16.35 seconds, tearing down Jeffries' previous record of 5:20.89.

"Normally, I don't swim that race, but it turned out for the better," admitted Hill. "I really want to work on the 50 free and 100 free and get better and better for state."
Hill also won the 50 free with a time of 23.42 seconds.
The Mountain View boys hung tough with the Tigers, setting a pool record of their own in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.80, edging Marana by 0.17 of a second.
The Mountain Lions' third-leg swimmer, Lee Gundy, also had first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 freestyle races.
"The mind-set today was that every finish mattered," said Mountain View coach Bruce Rock, "Our kids swam exactly what they needed to do."
The final boys race of the meet, the 400 freestyle relay, was the determining factor in the team outcome. Marana's winning time was 3:33.79.
Mountain View was off the block first, but Hill, the lead swimmer for Marana, regained the advantage at the first turn.
Marana held a strong lead of around eight seconds through the rest of the race, giving the boys team the win and the meet.
"We were so pumped. We gave that race everything we had and used all our energy," Jeffries said, "That race was everything."
In the girls meet, Marana triumphed over Mountain View 107-62.
Sophomore Ashley Fall produced first-place finishes for the Mountain Lions in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.
Marana senior Brindy Bringhurst had two personal bests in the 100 breast stroke and 500 freestyle.
She also anchored the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
"I'm excited," Bringhurst said. "I usually don't go my best until the end of the season."
Bringhurst is not the only Marana swimmer making a splash early in the season.
The boys time in the 400 freestyle relay broke a school record of 3:36.26, set at last year's state championship meet.
And Jeffries' time of 2:09.79 in the 200 IM was almost one second faster than a time he produced last week.
"Hopefully, we'll tear it up and keep the momentum going," Jeffries said.
