Cochise College will host a free day of recovery workshops to help Sierra Vista-area wildfire victims.
Sierra Vista was hit hard by fires in the Huachuca Mountains and now by floods, and the college wants to help the community, said event coordinator and history instructor Rebecca Orozco. "It seems like the more information we can get them, the better," she said.
Here's what you need to know about the event, called After the Emergency: A Rebuilding Workshop.
• When: July 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Where: Community Room in the Student Union at the Cochise College Sierra Vista campus, 901 N. Colombo Ave.
• Workshops: Topics include fire aftermath, fire-wise rebuilding, building and repair permits from Cochise County, rehabilitating land, tree and plant care, erosion control and insurance.
