Reviews
The Grapes of Wrath — The Rogue Theatre. See story.
“Sex Please, We’re Sixty” — Roadrunner Theater, 8892 E. Tanque Verde Road. This farce by Michael and Susan Parker is kind of cringeworthy. It takes place in a bed and breakfast run by a Mrs. Stancliffe. One next door neighbor regularly sneaks in to check her guest list “to see if any of my chicks are arriving today,” he explains. He calls himself “Bud the stud.” The other next door neighbor, Henry, has been wooing the widowed Mrs. Stancliffe for years. In addition, Henry is a chemist and he believes he has come up with a concoction that will increase older women’s libido. But if men take it (and they do in this play), they get the symptoms of menopause — you know, hysteria, hot flashes, wild mood swings. See? Cringe worthy. This Roadrunner production has a cast that is not up to the pristine timing or comic chops the play needs. But most of all, this play needs to be shelfed. 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays, through Feb. 4. $20. 207-2491. roadrunnertheatrecompany.org.

Opening
“Menopause the Musical” — The Gaslight Music Hall, 13005 N. Oracle Road, Oro Valley. Menopause is not funny — unless you are watching this Jeanie Linders musical. It’s packed with parodies of some old time rock ’n’ roll tunes from the era that menopausal women know well. 6 p.m. Jan. 18-19, 21-25; 2 p.m. Jan. 21. Continues through Jan. 28. $40. 529-1000. gaslightmusichall.com.
“RAPunzel” — Live Theatre Workshop, 5317 E. Speedway. Tucsonan Richard Gremel has adapted the fairy tale about the long-haired Rapunzel, who is trapped in a tower thanks to an evil witch. Gremel reimagines the tale as a hip-hop musical. The show is designed for children. 12:30 p.m. Sundays through March 18 (no show Feb. 11). $10. 327-4242. livetheatreworkshop.org.

“The Lone Stranger” — The Gaslight Theatre, 7010 E. Broadway. The Lone Stranger fights to bring justice to the lawless frontier with his white stallion, Thunder and friend Tonka. Various dates and times. Continues through March 25. $21.95. 886-9428. thegaslighttheatre.com.
“The House of Blue Leaves” — Live Theatre Workshop, 5317 E. Speedway. John Guare’s dark comedy about a zookeeper, Artie, who longs for songwriting fame gets a strong production from LTW. Artie can long all he wants — he isn’t a very good songwriter. And he’s got a wife who is mentally unstable.
But he also has a blonde girlfriend who encourages him, and an old friend who is a big Hollywood director. The story takes place on Oct. 6, 1965, in New York City — the day the pope came to town. The large cast includes Keith Wick, Avis Judd, Shanna Brock, Taylor Rascher and Janet Roby; Roberto Guajardo directs. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through Feb. 10.$20. 327-4242. livetheatreworkshop.org.
Last chance
A Delicate Ship — Community Playhouse, 1881 N. Oracle Road. Something Something Theatre Company stages an uneven production of Anna Ziegler’s talk-heavy and often lyrical play about three 20-somethings and love. Joan O’Dwyer directs; Stephen Dunham, Nicholas Watts and Shira Elena Maas star. Maas is a talented actress — she was Eva Peron in Arizona Repertory Theatre’s production of “Evita” last season — and she is headed to Chicago soon. This may be your last chance to catch her on a Tucson stage. Final performances are 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19 and 20; 2 p.m. Jan. 21. $18-$22. 468-6111. somethingsomethingtheatre.com.
