After four years of serving up custom-roasted coffee to caffeine-starved college students across from the University of Arizona, Caffé Lucé has opened a second location at 4205 N. Campbell Ave.
Owner Michael Foster said the new spot - which shares a shopping center with a Trader Joe's and Choice Greens, just south of East River Road - will allow the business to reach new customers, beyond the college crowd.
"It is a very good location," he added. "You have Trader Joe's and the farmers markets at St. Philip's. There is a lot of commuter traffic that comes down Campbell in the mornings."
Foster said roasting for both locations will still take place at the original location, at 943 E. University Blvd.
But the slower pace at the new Caffé Lucé will allow his crew the ability to employ higher-end preparation methods, such as pour-overs.
