You can always tell when a comedian has reached that pinnacle of their career where they don't need a new comedy special or album to draw an audience to their live shows.
They tour under the banner of "An evening with," which is code for "greatest hits" and anything else they set their mind to.
That's where Jeff Foxworthy is.
He has a recent Fox Nation comedy special, but the last time he put out a solo comedy album was 2004's "Have Your Loved Ones Spayed or Neutered." His most popular and famous schtick is even older; it goes back to his national debut, 1993's "You Might Be a Redneck If …"
Jeff Foxworthy is gonna remind us why we "might be a redneck if ..." during his show at Desert Diamond Casino Friday, June 26.
When he starts doing those classic one-liners on the Desert Diamond Casino stage Friday night, the audience will most likely give the Georgia comedian the biggest laughs of the evening.

In case you need a refresher on redneck humor, we'd like to share five of our Foxworthy faves:
- "If you've ever taken a beer to a job interview ... you might be a redneck."
- "If the most common phrase heard in your house is 'somebody go jiggle the handle' ... you might be a redneck."
- "If you've ever cut your grass and found a car ... you might be a redneck."
- "If you have a complete set of salad bowls and they all say Kool Whip on the side, you might be a redneck."
- "If you've ever stared at a can of orange juice because it said concentrate, you might be a redneck."
Of course, we anticipate the 67-year-old Foxworthy might slip in some grandpa humor in a nod to his three grands.
The last time he came to Tucson in 2024, he told the Star that he had dramatically cut back his touring to spend more time being a grandpa.
“Golly, it’s just a love affair,” he said in that interview. “I did not know it was going to hit me that hard.”
Foxworthy's show on Friday, June 26, starts at 8 p.m. at Desert Diamond, 1100 W. Pima Mine Road in Sahuarita. Tickets are $70-$105 through ddcaz.com.
Front row seats at Vaca come with a price
You may not want to avoid sitting too close to the stage at Rene Vaca's show on Saturday, June 27.
The comedian will not hesitate to make you part of his show.
Cali standup Rene Vaca focuses his rapid-fire comedy a lot on his dysfunctional family and upbringing.
The 28-year-old Vaca, who came on the national comedy scene in 2020 when he shared the top prize in the 16th annual Standup NBC competition, is known for picking on audience members for all sorts of random reasons.
It could be their outfit, their hairstyle or the person sitting next to them.
Once you're in his crosshairs, he will let loose with some in-your-face bits and barbs that can elicit mixed responses from audience members. It's not like he's insulting you; it's more like he's roasting you.
Vaca rapid-fires dark but relatable jokes and one-liners mostly centered on his dysfunctional Mexican-American family and upbringing in Southern California. He works the crowd with a frenetic energy, sometimes raising his voice to a near scream reminiscent of the late Sam Kinison.
His show Saturday at Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, 260 S. Church Ave., is his first Tucson solo headlining gig. He and fellow standup Ralph Barbosa brought their "Butterfly Effect Tour" here last June.
Saturday's concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $73.20 through ticketmaster.com.
