A bit of Brazil has come to Tucson.
Sur Real, a restaurant specializing in Latin cuisine, opened at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The 6,800-square-foot restaurant has 200 seats and is located in the former Soleil at 3001 E. Skyline Drive.
Dinner entrees range from $14 to $30 and lunches cost $11-$22. There will be happy hour drink and food specials daily. One specialty drink is a 42-ounce margarita ($15).
Some house specialties include Sur Real Paella ($22), with shrimp, clams, chicken and Spanish chorizo in saffron-infused arborio rice, and Brazilian sausage and peppers ($14 for lunch, $18 for dinner).
There are vegetarian options, including salads and Pasta Surena ($13 for lunch, $15 for dinner), which is pasta with banana peppers and vegetables in a lightly spiced tomato sauce.

Matt McKinnon, a 34-year-old partner, said that three private dining cabanas each include a 50-inch plasma television and are available by reservation.
Hours will be 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Mondays-Thursdays; 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Fridays-Sundays; dinner is served until 11 p.m.
Mexican-born chef Emiliano Sotelo rules the kitchen. He was chef at the now-closed Daniel's and returns to Tucson after a stint at restaurants in Massachusetts.
