A wildlife official killed a seventh coyote in Green Valley on Monday after another two people reported they were attacked, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said.
The specialist working in the area shortly after 6 p.m. shot the coyote. It will be tested for rabies, Barkman said.
Barkman said the first coyote bite was reported at 6 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Placita de la Moneda. A second bite was reported 11 minutes later in the 1600 block of West Zuniga. Both are in the Canoa Hills Golf Course area.
A U.S. Department of Agriculture wildlife specialist working in the area shot the coyote after seeing it jump a fence 20 yards from the site of the second attack, Barkman said.
She said wildlife officials do not believe rabies is a factor in the bites. They believe illegal feeding of the animals is to blame for the attacks, she said.
