Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the American Cancer Society’s 32nd annual Climb to Conquer Cancer of Tucson.
The event, a non-competitive hike to the summit of “A” Mountain, draws participants of all ages and abilities, including hikers, runners, wheelchairs and strollers, who all make their way up to the top of “A” Mountain, about a 3.1-mile distance.
The event concludes with a festival full of activities, food and entertainment.
The event begins with registration at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Pima Community College West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Road, and continues through noon at the top of “A” Mountain.
The registration fee per climber is a non-refundable $40 for adults, $25 for youth ages 13-19, $10 for ages 12 and under. Registration fee includes a 2018 Climb to Conquer Cancer T-shirt.

Funds raised during the Climb to Conquer Cancer of Tucson help support free programs and services for cancer patients in Southern Arizona like Look Good Feel Better, Road to Recovery, Cancer Resource Centers and more, as well as groundbreaking research. There are currently seven cancer research grants in the state of Arizona funded by the American Cancer Society totaling more than $5.6 million dollars.
