A former Nogales police officer is facing more than 15 years in prison after being convicted Thursday of sexually abusing one teenager and raping another while on duty.
Ramon Borbon, 39, was acquitted on a burglary charge, but convicted of sexual assault, sexual abuse, kidnapping and obstruction of justice after a full day of deliberations by a Pima County jury.
A Santa Cruz County jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on the same charges in May, and the case was moved to Pima County because of the media attention.
Borbon raped a 19-year-old woman who went to the Nogales Police Department in September 2005 to ask officers to serve an order of protection on a man accused of trying to break into her apartment, according to authorities.
Assistant Arizona Attorney General Kim Ortiz said in opening statements that on the night Borbon was supposed to deliver the paperwork, he went to the woman's apartment and sodomized her. The prosecutor said that when the victim accused him of violating his oath to "protect and serve," he boasted that he had served her.

In another incident, Ortiz said Borbon forced a 16-year-old girl to massage his genitals and then tried to kiss her. The girl said Borbon told her afterward he would have her mother deported if she reported the incident.
Jurors were also told of a third incident in which Borbon allegedly caressed the thigh of a second 16-year-old during the same time. He didn't face any charges in connection with that incident.
Defense attorney Mike Storie told jurors the alleged victims all had credibility issues and pointed out the alleged rape victim is suing the Nogales Police Department.
Borbon began his career at the Police Department as a dispatcher in December 1988. He became an officer in May 1991 but resigned once the rape allegation was made.
Borbon will be sentenced next month by Judge James Soto in Santa Cruz County Superior Court.
