Funeral services for Nogales firefighter Sterling Lytle, who died after a Tucson hit-and-run incident in late June, were held Monday.
Lytle, 25, was struck June 28 in a parking lot in the 1600 block of North Alvernon Way. Lytle was the passenger in a vehicle headed north on Alvernon when a man in a pickup pulled behind it and started honking the horn and flashing the lights, police said. Lytle got out of the vehicle, and the pickup ran into him before the driver fled.
Lytle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was taken off life support on July 3.
Since November 2011, Lytle worked as an EMT and firefighter for the Nogales Fire Department.
The funeral service was Monday morning at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints East Stake Center, on East Kenyon Drive, followed by burial at the Binghampton Cemetery .

Police have not found the driver of the truck that hit Lytle.
"Detectives are getting a lot of tips," said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department. "They're following up on investigating tips as they get them."
Investigators are trying to retrace Lytle's steps before the crash and to find surveillance video. They also are checking traffic camera videos, Widmer said.
The pickup that hit Lytle is described as an orange 2003-2005 Chevrolet Silverado or Chevrolet Avalanche. The grill from the truck was found at the scene.
