A 23-year-old Tucson man was sentenced to 16 years in prison Monday for a fatal shooting over a bicycle.
Justin Guyot was found guilty last month of second-degree murder in the death of Edward Brown, 21. He was also convicted of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and drive-by shooting, for which he will have to serve concurrent prison sentences.
Brown, 21, was riding a bicycle near East 22nd Street and South Craycroft Road when he was confronted by Anthony King, who took the bicycle away from him and claimed it as his own. Brown left after Guyot threatened him with a hammer, but came back with his uncle and brother, authorities said.
When Guyot pointed a shotgun at them, the trio left and were almost home when a car pulled up alongside and Guyot fired a shotgun blast at Edward Brown. Eight pellets hit Edward Brown in the back of the head, killing him, and one pellet struck his uncle in the right leg.
