In the market for a used helicopter?
Well, the city of Tucson has posted a Bell JetRanger helicopter for auction with bidding starting at $200,000, according to a news release from the Department of Procurement.
The aircraft was bought new by the Tucson Police Department in 1994 and has been used as a police helicopter ever since, the release said.
It has been maintained to all of the manufacturer's inspection and overhaul standards.
The auction ends March 8 and as of Thursday, there were no bids on the helicopter.
The winning bidder is allowed to test-fly the helicopter, and if he or she intends to fly the chopper away after purchase, the pilot must show a Federal Aviation Administration license and a logbook indicating experience flying a Bell 206 B series aircraft. Proof of insurance also will be required.
