Popular Tucson musician Kevin Pakulis and his band will head up to Summerhaven on Sunday to begin celebrating our independence a day early.
The headliner of this year's Tucson Folk Festival, the Kevin Pakulis Band has been a mainstay on the Tucson music scene for years. Pakulis will be joined by Duncan Stitt on keyboard, Larry Lee Lerma on bass and Ralph Gilmore on drums.
The Sunday concert is part of the Music on the Mountain series presented by the nonprofit Live Acoustic Venue Association - aka LAVA Music - and sponsored by Mesquite Homes.
Pakulis describes the band's music as Americana - a blend of rock, blues and country. Its latest album, "Shadesville," is decidedly rock, though, and very danceable.
The band will perform from noon to 4 p.m. under a big tent in Summerhaven.
