New Spirit Lutheran Church will host the mother-daughter duo Heavenly Harp Sunday during the 9 and 11 a.m. worship services.
The church is at 8701 E. Old Spanish Trail, at South Camino Seco.
Heavenly Harp features Karin and Joy Gunderson.
Karin, a harp practitioner, works with patients and families at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix. Known as the "singing harpist," she works with families of hospice patients facing the end of life.
Karin specializes in integrative therapies designed to bring wholeness and wellness to the mind, body and spirit.
She is joined by her daughter, Joy, who just finished her junior year at St. Olaf University in Northfield, Minn. She is majoring in music performance in harp and organ and studying to be a church musician. Joy was named the principal harpist for the university orchestra her freshman year and she also sings with the famed St. Olaf Choir.
