A program featuring lively traditional Irish dance music will be presented at Academy Village Tuesday as the Arizona Senior Academy's weekly concert.
Scatter the Dust, a trio of Tucson musicians playing Uilleann pipes (the traditional Irish bagpipe), fiddle and guitar, will perform at 11:30 a.m. in the great room of the Arizona Senior Academy Building, 13715 E. Langtry Lane.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Scatter the Dust was established in January 2011 by Eric Wilson, Sharon Goldwasser and Frank Daley, veteran musicians who have performed with established Arizona Irish and Celtic music bands including Round the House, Mixed Blessings, New Potatoes and Traveler.
Mostly self-taught, Wilson has been playing Uilleann bagpipes and whistles for more than 12 years. He is an active member of the Arizona Uilleann Pipers Society and has attended workshops conducted by prominent bagpipers such as Paddy Keenan.

Goldwasser has been playing Irish fiddle for more than 20 years. Her passion for the music has drawn her to workshops, classes and private study with master fiddlers at camps and festivals throughout the United States, as well as lessons from touring musicians from Ireland.
In 2007 she received a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and Tucson-Pima Arts Council for a week of intensive study with Randal Bays in Washington state.
Daley started playing the Dadgad-tuned guitar in the 1970s and has since added the mandolinlike cittern and bodhran drum to his repertoire. Starting in 1982, he performed with Katie Peterson in the Mixed Blessings duo. As artists on the roster of the Arizona Commission on the Arts, they played throughout Arizona and completed two tours in Mexico.
Academy Village is an active-adult community located off Old Spanish Trail six miles southeast of Saguaro National Park East.
Due to the popularity of Arizona Senior Academy events, non-members are encouraged to make advance reservations.
Concertgoers are invited to have lunch at the Academy Cafe, where prices range from $4.50 to $9.25. The cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
