Former students and employees gathered Sunday to mark the 50th anniversary of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School, 1800 S. Kolb Road.
A tour of the school allowed former students to admire the new and old photos that lined the hallways, and the reminiscing continued at a picnic in the courtyard.
"I have a daughter who graduated from here, as well as a granddaughter," said Grace Rome, a nurse and former student with roots in the church dating back 47 years.
"I have been here since 1963 and after my husband passed, I came back from Colorado and had to come back to Our Mother of Sorrows."
Sunday's event was the school's first reunion. It hopes to put on another in the future to help find out where former students and others are, Rome said.
"A lot of the former students come back to help out and teach," she said, "but it's hard to find most of the people."
