Valentine's dinner
The McCulloch-Wagner American Legion Post, Unit and Squadron 109, will host a Valentine's Day dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the post, 15921 S. Houghton Road.
The cost is $13. There will be karaoke at 7 p.m.

Supporting seniors
PRO Neighborhoods will host a workshop, "Supporting Seniors: Cultural Competency," from 3 to 6 p.m. next Thursday in the Sentinel Building, 320 N. Commerce Park Loop.
John Evans of the Arizona Attorney General's Office, and Donna Wagner, a private consultant, will lead the workshop. The Southern Arizona Compassion Initiative is sponsoring the free event.
Participants can learn to work effectively with people of different cultures and to understand seniors as a cultural group.

Participants also will discuss issues such as elder abuse and learn about resources to help prevent or intervene in abusive situations.
