Anton Faynberg, a native of Russia who is now a doctoral student at the University of Arizona, will be featured in a piano recital Tuesday at the Academy Village.
A laureate of numerous national and international competitions, Faynberg has performed extensively in Boston, Oberlin and Tucson. He is also a dedicated pedagogue, collaborator and piano technician.
Faynberg's Academy Village performance will feature works by Bach, Prokofiev, Schubert and Chopin. Sponsored by the Arizona Senior Academy, the concert is open to the public free of charge. It begins at 11:30 a.m. in the great room of the Arizona Senior Academy Building, 13715 E. Langtry Lane.
Academy Village is an active-adult community located off Old Spanish Trail six miles southeast of Saguaro National Park East.
Faynberg is pursuing a doctor of musical arts degree at UA, studying with John Milbauer, associate professor and coordinator of the keyboard area in the UA College of Fine Arts.

After beginning his music education at an early age, Faynberg continued his piano studies in Boston. His undergraduate work in piano performance was completed in 2010 at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio.
Due to the popularity of Arizona Senior Academy events and limited seating, non-members are encouraged to make advance reservations.
