Enchanted Snowfall, La Encantada's signature seasonal event, is continuing for the eighth year at the shopping center, 2905 E. Skyline Drive.
The center is "lucky the community has embraced this as a family traditional event," said Anaizza Montoya of La Encantada.
The "snow" is made of soap, or, as Montoya said, "98 percent magic and 2 percent foam."
The Enchanted Snowfall runs for 15 minutes twice on Friday and Saturday evenings, at 6 and 6:45 p.m., through Dec. 23.
Every night a different group performs. The featured group Saturday was the Palo Verde High School Jubileers.
Williams-Sonoma provides free hot chocolate.
"The kids love it and it's fun to watch them play and try and catch snowflakes," said Karri Lane Davis of Williams-Sonoma, who was serving hot chocolate.

Many parents at the event said this is one of the few times their kids get to see snow - or a good facsimile of it - in person. Kristen Gardener said she and her family have been wanting to go to the event for two years; when they finally made it this year, it was better than they'd expected.
"At first we couldn't tell it was soap!" she said.
